The information provided on this website is for general informational purposes only. Legacy Gaming Repair makes no warranties, expressed or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, or suitability of any information on this site.
While we strive to repair every device brought to us, Legacy Gaming Repair cannot guarantee a successful repair outcome in all cases. Some devices may have pre-existing damage, undisclosed issues, or component failures beyond our ability to repair. We will always communicate our findings before proceeding with any work. Electronics repairs are unpredictable. Your device may not be repairable or may be damaged during a repair attempt and be rendered useless. We make every effort to be successful in a repair attempt, but there is always a risk that it will not be repaired and could potentially end up in worse condition. In the event that a repair is not successful, you will be responsible for return shipping fees. I fully authorize Legacy Gaming Repair to disassemble my item, remove parts, install new parts, explore, and experiment in the attempt to repair my item. In the event your device cannot be fixed, we will invoice for a standard bench fee of $25 & return shipping. This fee varies by device size and time put into diagnostics. Any defective part removed from a device as part of a repair, including a motherboard that is replaced, becomes the property of Legacy Gaming Reapir upon removal and replacement. The customer has no ownership claim or entitlement to the removed or replaced part and it will not be returned with the device. If a repair quote includes replacement of a motherboard, the quoted repair price is based on Legacy Gaming Reapir retaining the original motherboard. Customers may not request or require the original motherboard to be returned after accepting or proceeding with the motherboard replacement service. Removed parts and motherboards may be retained for parts recovery, refurbishment, recycling, diagnostic purposes, or disposal at the sole discretion of Legacy Gaming Repair. Requests for removed parts must be made before any repair work begins and may be declined. Once a part or motherboard has been replaced, it will not be returned. If we open up a device and there are bugs (dead or alive), an automatic service charge of $25-100 depending on severity will be added to the cost of service. Cockroach infested consoles will not be eligible for warranty, particularly because you have a cockroach problem that can reoccur. We also reserve the option to immediately quit the service, close it back up, seal the item, and return it to the customer without service completion. The same applies to animal urine.
Our 'no fix, no fee' policy applies to standard repair attempts. If a device is deemed unrepairable after diagnostic, a bench fee may apply to cover the time and resources spent on diagnosis. This fee will be disclosed and agreed upon before any work begins — you will never be charged without prior approval. Liquid damage will automatically void any warranty available, whether the liquid damage occurred before or after the service. We may elect to refuse repair on devices with liquid damage, but even if the device is serviced, there will be no warranty. We do not "repair liquid damage," but we may repair components damaged by the liquid. Once a device has liquid damage, it is forever a liquid-damaged unit that may develop future problems. Liquid damage cleanup is subject to additional fees. If a device has had prior repair attempts, this can often cause the repair process to take longer than anticipated, require additional parts, or cause a device to be non-repairable. Because we aren't able to determine prior repair attempts until we have a device open and are actively working on it, we must disclose that prior repair attempts may add an additional fee to the repair if it causes longer than normal repair bench time, this fee is variable and is based on the amount of extra time and parts needed to restore damage from prior work. In addition, if it is determined that damages caused by a prior repair attempt result in a non-repairable device, we will charge a "repair attempt" fee for the time and parts used in the attempt. We do not accept devices modified from their factory operational design for repair. This is to say, a custom shell is fine, but modified buttons, triggers, or software is not accepted. Do not send hacked or software-modded Nintendo Switch systems to us.
Legacy Gaming Repair is not responsible for damage that occurs during shipping to our facility. We strongly recommend packing your device securely and purchasing shipping insurance for valuable items. Return shipping is included in the repair price and we take care in packaging all returned devices. Shipping insurance is optional and is not required. If you elect to purchase insurance, the cost will be 5% of the invoice subtotal. Insurance covers only the value of the invoice and does not insure or represent the replacement value of the device. We make every reasonable effort to package items securely so they arrive safely. Lost Packages: A lost package must first go through the applicable mail carrier's lost mail search and claims process. We must allow the carrier reasonable time to investigate and provide a determination before an insurance claim can be resolved. Damaged Packages: Claims involving shipping damage require photographic evidence of the package, packaging materials, and damaged item. Customers must retain the packaging and provide requested photographs so the claim can be investigated. Insurance coverage is limited to the amount of the applicable repair invoice. Damaged devices may be required to be turned in for compensation. Free return shipping is built into the repair price. As such, if a device is not repaired — either because service is refused or because the repair attempt was not successful — free return shipping is NOT implied, and you must pay to have your item returned to you. Shipping Address Policy — Read Before Paying We ship only to the address entered at the time you pay your invoice. We do not reference: Addresses entered on this website. Addresses written inside your package. Addresses sent in messages or emails Your shipping label is automatically generated from the address you submit at checkout (including Apple Pay and Google Wallet). We cannot override this after shipment. It is your responsibility to verify your shipping address before submitting payment. If you provide: An old address. A previous residence. A work address you no longer have access to. Any incorrect or incomplete address. And the package is delivered to that address, we are not responsible. If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address: Original postage is non-refundable. You will be required to pay new postage to have it re-shipped. No exceptions.
We are not responsible for any loss of saved game data, user profiles, or other digital content stored on your device during the repair process. We recommend backing up your data before sending your device. Some repairs may require a factory reset or firmware update that could affect stored data.
Our 60-day warranty covers the specific repair performed and the parts used. It does not cover new or unrelated issues that arise after the repair, physical damage caused after the device is returned, or damage resulting from misuse, liquid exposure, or unauthorized modifications. All repairs are warrantied by Legacy Gaming Repair for a period of 60 days from the return delivery date. Warranty covers defects in our service provided and will not cover damage caused by the customer. Customers must use approved chargers for charging repair, and must use brand-new HDMI cords for HDMI repair to have warranty coverage. Warranty means that we will repair the item again at no charge if the service provided fails within 60 days of the return delivery date. Warranty only covers the specific issue that was addressed during initial drop-off. (For example, if you sent an item in for hard drive replacement, the service does not include and would not warranty that the optical drive worked or would continue to work.) TMR stick replacements carry a separate warranty which can be referenced on the detail page for the applicable service.
Legacy Gaming Repair's liability is limited to the cost of the repair performed. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use your repaired device, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, or loss of use. There are no refunds. Service sales are final. In the event that a repair fails within 60 days, we will re-perform the repair at no additional charge. The customer will be responsible for the cost to send it in again. We will cover return shipping to the customer. Claims of a failed repair will not satisfy a claim for a refund. We must be given the opportunity to inspect the device and re-perform the repair service.
We reserve the right to update or modify this disclaimer at any time without prior notice. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
